1. Checking In

Greetings and welcome. I hope you are thriving. If you are located here in the US I also hope you have been enjoying the Labor Day holiday weekend.

For those of you who would like to know the resources I am personally finding useful lately, one is the prosperity work of Carole Dore ( www.caroledore.com ). Another is the the work of Saniel Bondor ( www.wakingdown.org ).

2. Some Thoughts on Money

(c) by Richard Ross

Recently someone sent me an article by author Carole Dore that began with the question "Do You Love Money?" It went on to ask "Do you love what money will get you, or do you love the money itself?" The whole point of the article was that in order to attract an ongoing abundance of money into our life we must actually love the money itself.

I have to say that even though I have been facilitating abundance classes and creating abundance & prosperity processes for quite a few years, when I read those words, "that you have to love the money itself" I found it a bit radical. And....it also resonated with me as the truth.

In my teaching, and in my life, I'm a firm believer in The Law of Attraction. Simply stated, the law says "that which you continue to flow energy to grows stronger in your life". So many of us have been continually indoctrinated throughout our lives (especially in our early years) with the idea that money is either 'bad' or a 'necessary evil'. Because of that many of us either have a love-hate relationship with money, or we are totally disinterested in the money itself.

When we have a love-hate relationship with money we are sending out a vibration that both attracts money, and then repels it. This creates an experience of lots of money coming in for a while, and then no money for a while. Feast or famine. Or we bring in lots of money and then lots of things happen to get rid of the money that we created. On the other hand, if we have a vibration of "disinterest" about money itself, money will respond by being disinterested in us. This usually shows up as we have only enough money to "get by" but never enough to really thrive.

If either of the above situations have been your experience you can be sure that your relationship with money is not a loving, happy one. If you have a reaction of outrage or resistance to the idea that "one needs to love money" it tells you that on some very real
level you are pushing money away. After all, if we consider something unlovable we are sending out a big energetic "NO" to it.

And please understand that when I say I agree that one needs to love money, I am not saying that one should be 'obsessed' by money. Obsession with money, or anything else, can lead to all sorts of evil. What I am suggesting here is that we need to have the same kind of love for money that we might have for a really good friend. Good friends support us in our life in many ways, and so does money.

In the next issue of this newsletter, I will include an exercise for balancing conflicting feelings about money, and I'll also include some recommended resources for improving your relationship with money.

In the meantime, I am considering offering a 90-Day small group healing workshop, focused entirely on "Transforming Your Relationship with Money". The group will meet at least twice a month by telephone and will be limited to a maximum of twelve participants. If you are interested in more information on this personalized healing experience, please send an email to richard@emotionalfreedom.com with subject: Money Transformation.

3. Food For Thought

"In order to discover new lands, one must be willing to lose sight of the shore for a very long time."
--- Andre Gide (1869?) French Writer

"Are you paralyzed with fear? That's a good sign. Fear is good. Like self-doubt, fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do. Remember one rule of thumb: The more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it."
--- Steven Pressfield

"The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life."
--- Dalai Lama
